I had been out of Honey Orchid Supreme for over half year and bought another 90g pack that arrived the day before yesterday. It is a 2014, as before. I was hoping for a fresh harvest. The tealeaves do not smell as good as before so I was a little disappointed. I followed my gongfu routine to make tea and it was ok, but I missed the special aroma which is a bit lower now. This morning I did it again but was distracted by a phone call. I came back to it two minutes (or more) late. The taste was so different. It was not sweet, not floral, but deep, really very deep and tasty with a little bitterness. It lingered in my mouth so long and almost like magic, I began to understand why some old tea people do not like bouquet style or sweet tasting tea. I wonder if this is what they call tea “yun”. It is rather like going beyond surface beauty into the soul of this tea. I am not drinking it now while writing this, but that divine linger is still in my mind.

I have been buying from Tea Hong for over 3 years. They are not only the best quality in all shops I have tried, but also the best value. I am comparing even those brick and mortar shops in China. They also have a huge varieties to offer. My personal favorite is Song Cultivar: https://teahong.com/home/5010-oolong-song-cultivar-dancong.html

I’d also like to recommend their great customer service. Siu and Wong is very attentive and helpful all the time.

Of all the teashops I have bought from — perhaps more than 50 of them — Tea Hong offers on average by far the highest quality and value. In addition, the service is exceptional. (Siu! ;-))

ANOTHER POWERHOUSE — My, my, this tea is full of flavor. Dry leaf aroma of melon. Pale yellow liquor with smooth, floral bouqet that fill the mouth. Huigan is big and long. Tremendous flavor rests on the tongue. Thick mouthfeel. This could be somewhat over the top, and perhaps less leaf should be used unless you are looking for a powerhouse of a perfumed Dancong. Many, many, brews. Quite enjoyable. This is the best selection of Dancong from any dealer I know in Asia. — Review posted originally in our store by Jeffrey N

Though its taste is rather simple compared to my favourite oolong phoenix teas, this white peony is easy to brew with tea mug, my only teaware in the office. I think it is quite an economic choice that I have it nearly daily. Customer review by kuk_chung_yan

This tea sings — There is not much I can add to the official description of this rare and fine tea. It is all the things described — mellow, floral tones, undulating earth tones. I have a bowl of Honey Orchid Supreme going at work today. The first two infusions delivered exactly what was promised. I poured water for my third infusion but got sidetracked into a meeting, so let it steep too long. Surprisingly, this “over-steeped” infusion was strong, yes, but never crossed the line into unpleasant bitterness. As described, it fully revealed itself with longer steeping. This tea is complex and a pleasure to drink. It will give you what you ask of it — a soft and mellow experience or a quizzical moment as you try to define its complexity with a stronger-brewed cup. Either way, it is sure to ping your happy place. Every tea from Tea Hong has delighted. I now mourn all the years I wasted drinking “shadow-of-tea-powder” that comes in a typical western tea bag. I can never go back to that now. Customer review originally posted in our site by Karen A

What a wonderful aroma comes out from this tea leaves after the first infusion: subtly cream undertone with a marvelous sun dried peach, tangerines and flowers. I have enjoyed them as much as their infusion. Really extraordinary. Highly recommended for those who likes dried (non fruity taste) tea. Reposting a customer review by Patricio H

Compare the Longjing and Silver Needle from Fortnum and Mason and from Tea Hong. The difference is clear even by smelling and looking at the tealeaves, and more distinct when you drink it. I am new to this kind of quality and learning all the different varieties a few at a time. Tea has become so much more enjoyable. Thank you!
